Using a PDF writer to send Death Certificates to a Doctor's Office
Adam Shaw of Shaw-Davis Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio presented this paper at the Central Ohio Funeral Director's meeting. It met with strong approval from Mark Koussef of the Vital Statistics office.

It details how to use the EDRS system to print the Ohio Death Certificate to a PDF file, which can then be emailed to the doctor's office.

This can save hours of travel time and the idea can be used within TerraPro for any form you would normally print and hand deliver or mail.

Thank you very much Adam, for allowing us to post this document here and on the TerraPro website.

Incremental backups
David,

I'm doing daily backups of the VTP directory and was wondering; exactly which files need backed up daily and what could be saved say, monthly? My thoughts are sysdata.*, tpcase*.* but I'm not sure about tpsurv*, tpsched*, etc.

Thanks,
Bill

Remote Desktop Printers
If you are using Remote Desktop to connect to a server and would like to print to your local computer's attached printers, this article is for you!

Some printer ports are not supported by Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services. For instance, if you have an All-In-One printer it probably is not supported. Other problems can occur with USB ports, etc. Microsoft has a few GOOD suggestions at the following website:

Update your webpage with Price Lists
If your web page has your price lists on it, you can update your web page with changes using TerraPro.

To do this you will need to know:
1. Your webpage address (for example: http://www.yourfuneralhome.com)
2. Your FTP Login
3. Your FTP Password
4. The folders where your web pages are stored.

Your web page provider or host can give you this information.

Watch this instructional video for details:

(you will need to install the Flash Player as suggested by the site)

Call me if you wish to setup this feature on your website, or have questions about how to create FoxPro reports that generate web pages.

Anomoly with Flag Form
David,

Our VA2008 Flag Form has a typo. In the "CONDITION UNDER WHICH VETERAN WAS RELEASED FROM SERVICE" section, box 1 has the word honorable on the printed form, but uses the word dishonorable on screen. I believe dishonorable would be correct.

By the way, the TerraPro to Quickbooks link is working great!

Thanks,
Bill Neal
