How to upgrade TerraPro:
This is a FREE update.
If you have a networked system, MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE IS USING TERRAPRO BEFORE PERFORMING THE UPDATE.
1. Click on the button that says “Check for Update”
2. If a new version is available, and you would like to update, click on Yes. If you have the latest version, the program will tell you so. Make a note of the new version number.
3. If you choose to update, the new version will be downloaded in about 30 seconds. You should then quit TerraPro.
a. Use the Start button in the
lower left of the screen and choose Computer.
b. Navigate to the TerraPro
folder (Usually C:\TerraPro or if networked, T:\)
c. Find the file called
TPnnnnnn.ZIP where the n’s are the most recent version downloaded. (Item 2
above)
d. Double click on the file and
extract the files to the folder indicated in b. above, choosing to always
over-write the existing files.
e. Once the files are extracted,
delete the OK*. Files in that folder.
f. Continue to step 5, below
Windows XP 32 bit users:
4. When you start TerraPro, it will sense that you have
downloaded a later version than the one you have installed. Answer Yes to the
question update now. Then follow the instructions to click on the desktop icon
that says TERRAPRO UPGRADE. A small black screen will show the files being
updated. Once it is finished, read the
instructions at the bottom of the black screen, which tell you to delete the
icon on your desktop labeled TERRAPRO UPGRADE (this is so you don’t accidentally
run the same update at a later date)
5. Now you can start TerraPro. Open each company (at need and preneed and any branches) and TerraPro will update the data structures for the new version.
6. Then you are ready to start using the new version. Choose Utilities, “What’s New” to see changes since your last version.
